The Alpharetta Lacrosse Club provides experienced coaches to lead both the high school and youth teams throughout the year.  These coaches bring to the program experience playing at elite levels, yet also have a passion for growing the game and teaching our players. All program coaches played Division I or Division III college lacrosse and will be alternating throughout the calendar year between high school and youth levels.

ALEX GAVILLA | Alpharetta High School Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach

Coach Gavilla has been the Head Coach for Kennesaw State University’s Men’s Lacrosse team since 2017. At KSU Coach Gavilla administered all aspects of the program. KSU plays in a very competitive conference (SELC) which includes Georgia Tech, South Carolina, and Florida State. Under Coach Gavilla’s leadership, KSU was 3-time SELC Regular Season Champion, SELC Regional Tournament Champion, and achieved a school record high National Ranking of #2 in the country.

Prior to taking the role at KSU, Coach Gavilla was an assistant coach at Young Harris College where he focused on Face-off and Wing Play.

In addition to his college coaching experience, Coach Gavilla has 10 years of experience coaching high school lacrosse most recently at East Paulding High School where he was the Director of Lacrosse from 2018 – 2020.

Coach Gavilla also served in various assistant coaching capacities over six years at Kennesaw Mountain High School, Hillgrove High School, and Harrison High School. He is currently the Director of Lacrosse for the Atlanta Kings Lacrosse Club.

Coach Gavilla played his college lacrosse at Mars Hill University and Kennesaw State University. Coach Gavilla is married to Ashley and they have a 2-year old daughter Aracely.

CHRIS INNIS | Junior Varsity Assistant Coach

Coach Innis is originally from Baltimore, MD and has played lacrosse since the age of 4. He attended Hereford High School in Parkton, MD where he played mostly attack, as well as some midfield. Coach Innis graduated from Hereford High School in 2012 and went on to attend The University of Georgia, where he majored in Biology and later picked up a second major in Science Education. Upon graduation, he was employed at Alpharetta High School, teaching Biology and Earth Systems, and has served as the Head JV Lacrosse Coach and Varsity Assistant for the last 5 years. Coach Innis currently teaches Earth Systems and Environmental Science.
